The premise of Jay Stringer's work is that if we want to find freedom from our unwanted desires we have to explore the things that are driving us toward that behavior.
For example most of us were told to flee, avoid, or bounce our eyes when we felt lustful. Stringer argues that the answer is exploring what's beneath the lustful patterns. For most of us it is a combitnation of family of origin, deep seated lies that have ingrained themselves in our neorpathways (some of believe we are crap so we keep going back to crap), and trauma (small and/or big).
Overall, it could be that our addictions and unwanted desires are actually pointing to deeper unmet needs and unhealed wounds.
I LOVE that last quote!
